Rome is one of the most romantic cities in the world. If you’re looking for a place to whisk your loved one away for a weekend, look no further! This guide will take you through everything you need to know about planning the perfect romantic getaway in Rome. From where to stay, to what to do and see, we’ve got you covered!
Romantic Weekend in Rome Day 1
When you arrive in Rome from the airport, the first thing you’ll want to do is check into your hotel. If you’re looking for something truly romantic, we recommend the Hotel Eden. This five-star luxury hotel is located right in the heart of Rome and offers stunning views of the city. Once you’ve settled into your room, it’s time to start exploring! This hotel is just a suggestion. Feel free to search for you ideal accommodation that fits to your… romantic needs.
Stroll to Villa Borghese
There are plenty of romantic things to do in Rome. Why not start with a stroll through one of the beautiful parks? The Villa Borghese is a great option and is just a short walk from the Hotel Eden. In the Villa Borghese you can spend half your day. Start from a stroll in the Villa Borghese Gardens. Then pay a visit to the Villa Borghese museum, for which we suggest to prebook your ticket because they tend to sold out. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you could even take a horse and carriage ride around the park!
Visit to Pantheon and Dinner
After working up an appetite, it’s time to enjoy some of Rome’s delicious food. There are plenty of romantic restaurants to choose from, but one of our favourites is Armando al Pantheon. The menu features traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist. But since you are there, we recommend paying a short visit to the Pantheon in Rome, prior to your dinner. The entrance in the Pantheon is free of charge, but if you want a better experience you can buy an audio guide to explain you a little bit about the history of Pantheon and the things you see in there.
Romantic Walk to Via Margutta
After dinner, it’s time to explore Rome’s nightlife. If you’re looking for something truly unique, we recommend taking a night time walking tour. These tours take you through some of Rome’s most popular (and romantic!) neighbourhoods, and they’re a great way to see the city in a new light.
One of the most romantic streets in Rome is Via Margutta. This street is full of art galleries, and it’s a great place to wander around and take in the beautiful scenery. If you’re looking for a place to relax after a long day of sightseeing, we recommend stopping by one of the many cafes or wine bars that line the street.

The second day of a romantic weekend in Rome cannot include a special breakfast. Even if the hotel you have booked includes breakfast, we strongly suggest to eat your breakfast in a different place so you can start your day enjoying the view and not just eating.
Breakfast in a Cafe
We suggest heading Barnum Roma, in Via del Pellegrino with a great variety of breakfast dishes. Another choice is Caffè Sant’Eustachio, which is located just a few minutes from the Pantheon. This cafe is famous for its strong coffee and delicious pastries.
Breakfast in Vatical Gardens
But if you are looking something really really special we suggest taking your breakfast in the Gardens of Vatican. Yes, that’s right! You can eat your breakfast in the Pinecone Courtyard of Vatican and then you can continue your day visiting the Vatican Museum.

Guests are treated to an exclusive buffet breakfast in the peaceful Pinecone Courtyard before the museums open to the public. Tiber River with a glass of wine
After your long visit to the Vatican Museum it should be evening. What would you say for a romantic evening cruise in Tiber River holding a glass of wine?
Aperitif on the Tiber River is the perfect way to relax and enjoy the sights of Rome. Board a double-decker boat for a cruise along Rome’s Tiber River complete with wine and appetizers. During the cruise, chill out and enjoy the view as you listen to fascinating onboard commentary as well as relaxing music. The cruise departs from Castel Sant’Angelo pier (river opposite the Castle) and returns to the same point. The appetizers menu lets you experience real Roman food, served on large plates. Everything is served with a glass of red or white wine, as per your preference. The selection includes pasta with pesto, pachino and olives; a slice of pizza with mozzarella cheese, pachino, and oregano; rustic puff pastry with ham and provola; chips and salted peanuts; fresh fruit; dry pastries. Extra wine and spirits are available for purchase onboard from a special selection on t Rome: Aperitif on the Tiber River is a great way to relax and enjoy Rome!
After your cruise and your wine we are sure that your appetite will have increased so we strongly suggest to keep going with your dinner in a very romantic place.
Dinner in a restaurant with a view of Rome
